The Incomer film explores isolation on a Scottish island

The British comedy film ‘The Incomer’, written and directed by Louis Paxton, is set on a remote island in the Scottish Highlands. The story follows two siblings, Isla and Sandy, who have lived in isolation for 30 years after their parents disappeared. Their secluded life is disrupted by the arrival of Daniel, a land recovery coordinator tasked with relocating them to the mainland.

Described as a folk comedy with elements of thriller, horror, and fantasy, the film explores themes of storytelling and family. The production won the NEXT Innovator Award at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. ‘The Incomer’ is scheduled for theatrical release on September 25th by Sumerian Pictures.
