The Intern Korean film remake set for September 2026 release

The upcoming Korean film “The Intern”, a remake of the 2015 Hollywood comedy, is scheduled for theatrical release on September 16, 2026. Directed by Kim Do-young, the film stars Choi Min-sik and Han So-hee.

The story follows the relationship between Gi-ho (Choi Min-sik), a senior intern with 37 years of professional experience, and Sun Woo (Han So-hee), the ambitious founder of a rapidly growing fashion startup. The plot explores generational differences and workplace dynamics as Gi-ho adapts to a modern, digital-focused environment.

Supporting cast members include Kim Jun Han as Young Hwan, the practical vice president of the company, and Ryu Hye Young as Min Ah, a management support team leader described as an “AI-obsessed” professional. The film aims to capture the bond that develops between the two protagonists despite their vastly different professional backgrounds.
