The Jayhawks release new album Sanctuary Park

The Jayhawks, pioneers of the alt-country genre, have released a new album titled ‘Sanctuary Park’. Produced by Bob Ezrin, the record continues the band’s long-standing tradition of blending country songwriting with a rock-band approach. The music features a mix of folk-rock, country, and pop elements, emphasizing vocal harmonies and the band playing together.

Marking four decades since their formation in Minneapolis, the group is currently led by singer and guitarist Gary Louris, supported by Tim O’Reagan, Karen Grotberg, and Marc Perlman. The new tracks, including ‘Keeping Our Heads Above Water’ and ‘American Midnight’, showcase a range of styles from upbeat arrangements to sharper contemporary songwriting. The band is also scheduled for an international tour in 2027.
