The Junction hosts ‘Rise and Ring’ morning show in Starkville

The campus radio station 91.1 The Junction in Starkville hosts ‘Rise and Ring’, a live morning show designed for early commuters. Running from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., the program provides advice, trivia, and campus coverage to students and residents during the morning drive time.

Co-hosted by communications majors Gracelyn Johnson and Skyler Aldy, the show was conceived by station manager Becca Thorn to fill a specific programming gap for those traveling to school or work. Johnson, who has been co-hosting since January 2026, noted that the show aims to cater to the significant morning drive-time audience.
