THE KEENING announces new album ‘Devotion’

THE KEENING, the musical project led by Rebecca Vernon, has announced a new album titled ‘Devotion’, scheduled for release on October 16, 2026, via Relapse Records. The upcoming work follows 2023’s ‘Little Bird’ and features a blend of ethereal post-rock, folk, goth, and doom.

To accompany the announcement, the group released the lead single ‘A Little Bit Of Blood’ along with an official music video. The video, which serves as an homage to the film ‘Only Lovers Left Alive’, was filmed over a weekend in Detroit by the Ten Seconds To Comply film company.

Vernon noted that the album is dedicated to her father, who passed away in May 2025. Lyrically and musically, the record explores the duality between devotion as love and devotion as addiction. The songwriting process for the album took place in diverse locations, including an Idaho ski resort and a senior living community in Spokane, Washington.
