The Kite Trust seeks urgent funding for LGBTQ+ youth services

The Kite Trust, a youth charity, is appealing for urgent financial support as funding shortfalls and rising demand threaten LGBTQ+ services across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, and surrounding areas.

Co-CEO Felix Turney noted that young LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly transgender youth, are facing increasingly complex challenges and require tailored, non-judgemental support. The charity provides a vital space for identity exploration and community building, serving those who may not feel comfortable accessing mainstream services.

Financial pressures have already led to the reduction of support groups and the suspension of major community events, such as the Queer Prom. To combat the shortfall, the charity has partnered with easyfundraising to allow supporters to contribute through online shopping.
