The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time coming to Nintendo Switch 2

A remastered version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is scheduled for release on the Nintendo Switch 2, with a global launch date set for November 5, 2026. The new version introduces several gameplay changes, including a dedicated manual jump button to replace the original automatic jumping mechanic.

Early testing sessions indicate that certain puzzles and challenges, such as those in the Kokiri Forest and the Forest Temple, have been adapted for modern controls. These adjustments have sparked discussion regarding a potential decrease in the game's overall difficulty compared to the 1998 original.

Technically, the title will support Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) in TV mode. This feature allows compatible televisions to dynamically adjust their refresh rate to match the console's frame rate, aiming to reduce screen tearing and provide smoother visual movement during performance fluctuations.
