The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time players discover new glitch

Speedrunners have discovered a new glitch in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, nearly 28 years after the game's original release. The glitch allows players to defeat major bosses without the specific weapons typically required for the encounters.

By using a bottle item at the exact moment the hit zone of a previous attack disappears, players can overwrite damage values. For example, using a fairy from a bottle immediately after a magical swirl attack can cause the attack to inherit the damage properties of the Megaton Hammer. This allows the dragon Volvagia to be defeated without the hammer. Similarly, the glitch can be used to defeat Ganondorf without the necessary Light Arrows.
