The Life of the Happy Hitman Kanako anime to premiere in April 2027

The manga series ‘The Life of the Happy Hitman Kanako’ (Shiawase Kanako no Koroshiya Seikatsu) by Tatsuya Wakabayashi is officially scheduled for a television anime adaptation, set to premiere in April 2027.

Directed by Shinji Takamatsu and produced by studio Drive, the series follows Nishino Kanako, an office worker who leaves a toxic corporate environment to find employment at an assassin agency. Despite the nature of the work, the agency is depicted as an exceptionally employee-friendly ‘white company’ offering high pay and good benefits.

The voice cast includes Hana Tameike as the protagonist Kanako, Ryota Suzuki as her colleague Sakurai, and Junichi Suwabe as the company president. The project follows the success of the original webcomic and a 2025 live-action drama adaptation.
