The Light in the Darkness: Director’s Cut released for free on PS5

The Light in the Darkness: Director’s Cut is currently available for free on the PlayStation Store for PS5 users. The release does not require a PlayStation Plus subscription and contains no microtransactions.

Developed by Luc Bernard and Arcade Distillery, this version is an expanded edition of the 2023 PS4 title. It features full voice acting, an extended narrative, and new animations to realize the developer’s original vision. The game is a narrative role-playing experience following a Jewish family attempting to survive in Nazi-occupied France during World War II.

While the game is currently a PS5 exclusive, it is scheduled for a release on Steam in October. User reception on the PlayStation Store has been mixed, with a current rating of 3.46 out of 5 stars based on over 4,300 reviews, noting both the emotional depth of the story and some issues with controls.
