The Living Company announces A$1bn Melbourne investment

The Living Company (TLCo) has announced an approximately A$1 billion investment in Melbourne through the establishment of the State Library Exchange Partnership. The project involves a development located above the newly opened State Library Station at the corner of Swanston Street and La Trobe Street in the Melbourne CBD.

The state-of-the-art development will provide over 1,400 purpose-built student accommodation beds and more than 12,000sqm of commercial and retail space. In a significant leasing agreement, RMIT University has committed to occupying the entire 12,000sqm of commercial space for a 15-year term.

Stephen Gaitanos, Joint CEO and Co-Founder of TLCo, described the project as the company’s largest mixed-use student accommodation, co-living, and education asset to date. The development aims to address Melbourne’s undersupplied rental market and reinforces the city's status as a global education hub.
