The Local Donut in Scottsdale Rescued by Community Support
Owner Daniel Tes said his ten‑year‑old donut shop, The Local Donut in Scottsdale, Arizona, was on the brink of closure after a period of low sales left the business unable to pay its staff. Tes posted a plea for help on social media, saying he had asked God for assistance and invited the community to support the shop.
The next day, neighbors, regular customers and other local businesses responded in large numbers, filling the shop with patrons and pre‑ordering donuts. The surge of support allowed the shop to meet payroll and avoid shutting its doors, prompting Tes to thank the community and credit the outpouring of generosity.
