The Lord of the Rings: War in the North Legacy Edition released

Aspyr has released the Legacy Edition of The Lord of the Rings: War in the North, a remaster of the 2011 action RPG originally developed by Snowblind Studios. The game is available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch platforms.

The remaster introduces quality-of-life improvements, including 60fps framerate support on newer consoles and autosave functionality. While the game maintains its core gameplay loop of character-swapping and combat against Middle-earth creatures, reviewers note that it remains limited by its original PS3-era design, such as the lack of jumping mechanics and repetitive gameplay elements. Some technical bugs have also been reported in the new version.
