The Lord of the Rings: War in the North Legacy Edition remastered

Aspyr Media has released the Legacy Edition of The Lord of the Rings: War in the North, a remaster of the 2011 action RPG originally developed by Snowblind Studios and published by Warner Bros.

The remaster focuses on quality-of-life improvements rather than a complete ground-up rework. A significant new feature is the ability to seamlessly switch between the three protagonists—a human ranger, a dwarf warrior, and an elf loremaster—which addresses a limitation of the original release that was primarily designed for cooperative play.

Additional updates include the introduction of online crossplay and the enablement of local co-op on PC for the first time. While the game retains its old-school hack-and-slash mechanics, the Legacy Edition aims to make the experience more accessible for modern solo and cooperative players.
