The Macallan launches Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary whisky in Nigeria

The Macallan has released the Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary single‑malt whisky in Nigeria, marking the 55th anniversary of the 1971 James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever. The limited expression was distilled in 2007 and matured for 18 years in bespoke hybrid casks of sherry‑seasoned European and American oak, as well as American oak previously seasoned with red wine, before being bottled at 45.5% ABV.

The bottle and presentation case draw on original artwork from the James Bond archives, linking the whisky to the iconic franchise. Senior Brand Manager Hammed Adebiyi highlighted the release as a showcase of The Macallan’s craftsmanship, while whisky maker Russell Greig oversaw the cask work. The launch was held as an exclusive tasting event for invited guests in Lagos and Abuja, emphasising the whisky’s collectability for luxury consumers and enthusiasts.
