The Macallan launches TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask in Asia

The Macallan has introduced the TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask, a 20-year-old single malt whisky, marking its debut in the Asian travel retail market at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. In partnership with China Duty Free Group (CDFG), the launch includes an airport-wide activation across Terminals 2 and 3.

The expression is the third release in the TIME : SPACE Collection and highlights the brand’s connection to Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. It is the first whisky to be influenced by casks seasoned with Valdespino sherry wine since the bodega came under The Macallan’s ownership. The whisky was matured in European oak sherry-seasoned casks and married in a selection of the first 200 sherry casks seasoned at the Valdespino bodega.

Bottled at 44.8% ABV, the whisky features tasting notes of dried fruits, ginger cake, treacle toffee, and chocolate-coated cherries. The product is presented in a signature circular bottle designed to symbolize the passage of time, with packaging inspired by palomino grapes.
