Star Wars' 'The Mandalorian and Grogu' Filmed in California Boosts Local Economy

Actor Temuera Morrison said he hoped Boba Fett would appear in the upcoming Star Wars film "The Mandalorian and Grogu," noting the character’s strong ties to the series and expressing optimism about a future cameo.

The movie was shot entirely at soundstages in Manhattan Beach, California, using virtual‑production technology. According to the California Film Commission, the production generated about $166 million in qualified in‑state spending, making it the largest single project in the state’s Film and Television Tax Credit Program and creating thousands of local jobs.
