The Mars Volta announces new live album and North American tour

The Mars Volta has released a new single, ‘Reina Tormenta / Enlazan Las Tinieblas’, ahead of their upcoming live album, ‘Lucro Sucio; Unfinished Business’. Scheduled for release on November 20 via InsideOutMusic, the album features live reinterpretations of tracks from their 2025 studio album, ‘Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos Del Vacío’.

The live recordings were captured during the band’s autumn 2025 tour. Rather than documenting a single concert, the tracklist was shaped by fan votes via an online system. The resulting album will condense 18 original tracks into 13 tracks through the use of medleys.

The band has also launched a North American tour, beginning September 8 in Ventura, California. Upcoming tour dates include a performance at the Alamodome in San Antonio on September 12 alongside My Chemical Romance, a set at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville on September 20, and a headlining show at the Pepsi Center WTC in Mexico City on November 29.
