Alan Carr joins The Masked Singer UK as new judge
Comedian Alan Carr, 50, has been confirmed as a new judge on ITV's The Masked Singer UK for its eighth series, due to air in January 2027. He will sit alongside existing panelists Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Maya Jama and Jonathan Ross.
Carr will introduce his own rival team, dubbed the “Wild Cards”, which will compete against the established “Legends” panel in a new twist announced by ITV. The broadcaster described the move as a “dream come true” for Carr, with ITV director of entertainment Katie Rawcliffe saying the network is thrilled to welcome his wit and energy. Filming is set to begin in the autumn.
The show, produced by Bandicoot Scotland, has attracted over 12 million viewers this year, including 1.4 million viewers aged 16‑34. Carr previously won Celebrity Traitors and has appeared as a guest panelist on other ITV programmes.
