The Matrix Resurrections airs on Swedish TV, underscoring its box‑office flop

The fourth installment of the Matrix franchise, *The Matrix Resurrections*, was broadcast on Sweden’s TV6 at 23:20, giving audiences a chance to revisit the film after its theatrical run. The movie stars Keanu Reeves as Neo and Carrie‑Anne Moss as Trinity, with Yahya Abdul‑Mateen II portraying a new version of Morpheus.

Produced on a $190 million budget, the film earned just over $159 million worldwide, classifying it as a commercial failure. Critical response was lukewarm, with Rotten Tomatoes showing a 63 % rating from both critics and audiences. The production company Village Roadshow later sued Warner Bros. over an early streaming release, alleging it harmed box‑office performance. A fifth Matrix film is slated, with screenwriter Drew Goddard attached to helm the project.
