The Matrix returns to theaters in 4K for limited screenings

Nexo Studios is launching its ‘Back to Cult’ film series, beginning with a 4K restoration of the 1999 film ‘The Matrix’. The cyberpunk classic, written and directed by Lana and Lilly Wachowski, will return to theaters for limited screenings on October 26, 27, and 28, 2026.

Pre-sales for the event are scheduled to open on September 24, with a list of participating theaters to be released on the Nexo Studios website. The series aims to bring visionary cult films back to the big screen, with the next scheduled event featuring Stanley Kubrick’s ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ in November.
