The Morning Show to End with Fifth Season on Apple TV+ in 2027
Apple TV+ announced that the drama series *The Morning Show* will conclude with a fifth and final season slated for 2027. The show, which debuted in 2019 as one of the streaming service’s flagship originals, follows the turbulent world of a fictional American morning‑news program. It stars Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, who also serve as executive producers, alongside an ensemble cast that includes Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Nicole Beharie and Jon Hamm. New additions for the final season are Jeff Daniels, Renée Rapp, Jesse Williams, Sean Hayes and Lizzy Caplan.
The creative team remains largely unchanged: Charlotte Stoudt is showrunner, Mimi Leder directs and co‑produces, and Media Res partners with Hello Sunshine and Echo Films. Season 4, set after a fictional UBA‑NBN merger, tackled deepfakes and corporate cover‑ups; the upcoming season will serve as a planned conclusion, allowing the writers to wrap character arcs intentionally. Aniston said, “We feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to tell stories that reflect what’s happening in the world around us with a twist of dark humor.” Witherspoon added, “This was always more than a show about a newsroom—it was about why the newsroom matters and the freedom of the press.”
