The Mummy 4 to feature returning cast including Brendan Fraser

Production for the long-awaited sequel to the 'The Mummy' franchise is approaching, with filming expected to begin soon. Brendan Fraser is set to return as adventurer Rick O’Connell, alongside original cast members Rachel Weisz and John Hannah.

Actor John Hannah described the script for the currently untitled project as ‘terrific’ and ‘bloody good,’ noting that the production aims to avoid being a ‘cynical rehash’ by bringing fresh energy to the series. The film will be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the duo known for 'Scream VI' and 'Ready or Not.'

The announcement marks a revival of the franchise following the conclusion of the previous series in 2008. The project seeks to build upon the legacy of the original films, which featured significant commercial success.
