The Mummy returns to cinemas for 25th anniversary

Universal Pictures has announced the theatrical re-release of the 1999 film ‘The Mummy’ to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The adventure film, starring Brendan Fraser as Rick O’Connell and Rachel Weisz as Evelyn Carnahan, is scheduled to return to cinemas in Latin America, with a specific screening date set for October 29 in Peru.

The film follows an expedition in 1923 Egypt that accidentally awakens the ancient high priest Imhotep. The re-release comes as fans anticipate a new installment in the franchise, which is reportedly planned for release in October 2027.
