The Navigator Company reduces CO2 emissions by 300,000 tonnes
The Navigator Company has reduced CO2 emissions from its industrial complexes by nearly 300,000 tonnes through projects supported by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The decarbonization efforts involve six major projects across industrial sites in Setúbal, Figueira da Foz, Aveiro, and Vila Velha de Ródão.
These projects represent an investment of approximately 193 million euros, with 76 million euros co-financed by the PRR. Key initiatives include a recovery boiler in Setúbal, a biomass lime kiln in Figueira da Foz, a cogeneration unit in Aveiro, a biomass boiler in Vila Velha de Ródão, and several photovoltaic plants.
The company aims to reduce emissions by 86% by 2035, using 2018 as a reference year. As of 2025, the company reports a 37% reduction, with projections to reach 54% by 2027. Since 2018, Navigator has invested a total of 352 million euros in decarbonization measures.
