The New Day faces speculation over potential AEW signing

Following their departure from WWE in May 2026, professional wrestling stars Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, known as The New Day, are facing significant speculation regarding their future in the industry.

Reports indicate that the duo left WWE after refusing to restructure their existing contracts. There are strong rumors that the former tag team champions may join All Elite Wrestling (AEW), with expectations that they could have a significant role at the upcoming All In event.

Wrestling veteran AJ Styles expressed support for the duo, stating, "I don't know if it was the smartest decision letting those two tag teams go... They got years of experience with the psychology, and they have perfected it in a tag team ring."

Meanwhile, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross raised concerns regarding the transition, suggesting that for the team to be effective, AEW must ensure they have a dedicated spot on the roster as a team rather than just two individual performers. Former teammate Big E also commented on their exit, noting that while they likely intended to retire in WWE, changes in ownership and the nature of the business led to their current free agency.
