Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods face AEW speculation after WWE exit
Former WWE stars Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, known collectively as The New Day, are facing intense speculation regarding a move to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The duo departed WWE in May after reportedly rejecting a contract restructure that would have included a 50 percent pay cut. Their 90-day non-compete clauses expired in early August, making them free agents.
Kofi Kingston has taken steps to secure his professional identity by filing trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for “KSM” and his legal name, “Kofi Sarkodie-Mensah.” These filings cover entertainment services, including wrestling performances, televised appearances, and merchandise such as apparel.
While no official signing with AEW has been confirmed, industry reports suggest the move has been anticipated for some time. Speculation includes potential debuts at AEW All In in London or involvement in Trios Championship matches. Both performers are scheduled to appear at the Jericho Cruise in November.
