The New York Times science desk announces relaunch and events
The New York Times is relaunching its science desk coverage this fall, introducing new beats, columns, and a redesigned newsletter.
To mark the relaunch, the publication is hosting two public events. On October 28, an event titled “The Future of Discovery: Science Times at the American Museum of Natural History” will take place in New York. The program will feature panels on space exploration, cancer treatment revolutions, and paleontology, with participants including astronaut Jeremy Hansen and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.
A second event will be held on November 1 at the Griffith Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. This session will include a conversation with cosmologist Wendy Freedman regarding the expansion of the universe, as well as a presentation on the art of science imagery.
