The North Face updates iconic Nuptse jacket for 60th anniversary
To mark its 60th anniversary, The North Face is updating its iconic Nuptse jacket with new technical and stylistic variations. The release includes the Pertex Reversible Nuptse, which offers two distinct looks in a single garment: one side featuring a minimalist, modern silhouette for urban environments, and the other featuring retro color blocking and oversized baffles for an alpine aesthetic.
The Pertex Reversible Nuptse utilizes Pertex Quantum fabric to improve wind and water resistance while preventing down leaks. It is insulated with 700-fill recycled waterfowl down and an overlay of 80% recycled polyester and 20% stretch synthetic insulation. The jacket also incorporates sustainable materials, including recycled nylon with a fluorine-free DWR finish.
Additionally, the brand is introducing the Summit Series Nuptse, designed to bring the classic closer to its technical roots with expedition-grade improvements. According to senior design manager Patrick O’Sullivan, the goal is to ground the Nuptse in performance innovation while building on its existing cultural impact in both mountain and city settings.
