The Odyssey leads Oscar predictions for Best Picture and craft categories

Christopher Nolan’s epic film, ‘The Odyssey’, is currently the frontrunner for the upcoming Academy Awards. According to tracking from Gold Derby, the film is leading in the Best Picture and Best Director categories.

The film is also dominating below-the-line craft categories. It is forecast to be nominated in Best Casting, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Film Editing, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Production Design, and Best Sound, while holding third place in the Best Visual Effects predictions.

In addition to its technical dominance, ‘The Odyssey’ has been a significant commercial success, grossing over $1.7 billion. Other notable contenders in the awards race include ‘La Bola Negra’, which has seen significant momentum following wins at Cannes and the Toronto International Film Festival, and ‘Project Hail Mary’. ‘The Odyssey’ also sees Anne Hathaway leading the predictions for Best Supporting Actress.
