The Odyssey breaks box office records with $1.76 billion global gross

Christopher Nolan’s epic film “The Odyssey” has achieved massive global commercial success, grossing $1.76 billion worldwide. The film has become Universal Studios’ highest-grossing movie of all time, surpassing the previous record held by “Jurassic World”. It also holds the record for the highest-grossing film ever in IMAX.

In Greece, the film has seen significant local impact, surpassing 1 million admissions. It is currently the most successful film of the year in the country, approaching the long-standing record for a foreign language film set by “300” in 2007.

Due to its ongoing popularity, Universal Studios announced that “The Odyssey” will return to select IMAX theaters starting October 9. The film, starring Matt Damon, is noted for being the first non-sequel or remake since “Avatar” to gross over $1 billion outside of the U.S. and Canada.
