The Olivia Tremor Control releases final double album The Same Place

The Olivia Tremor Control, co-founders of the Elephant 6 Recording Company, have released their third and final full-length double album, titled ‘The Same Place’. This marks the band’s first studio release in 27 years.

The album consists of 27 tracks recorded prior to the deaths of principal members Bill Doss and Will Cullen Hart. Doss passed away in 2012, while Hart died in November 2024. The project was brought to completion with the assistance of producers Derek Almstead, Jason NeSmith, and co-producer Ron Kwasman.

As a cornerstone of the 1990s underground music scene, the band is known for an experimental and psychedelic pop style that incorporates sound collage and kaleidoscopic arrangements. The release concludes a musical legacy that includes influential works such as ‘Music from the Unrealized Script: Dusk at Cubist Castle’ and ‘Black Foliage: Animation Music Volume 1’.
