The Open Championship Announces 2027 St Andrews and 2028 Royal Lytham Venues
The organizers of golf’s oldest major have confirmed the next two host courses after the 2026 Open at Royal Birkdale. The 155th Open will move to the Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland from 11 July to 18 July 2027, marking the venue’s 31st appearance. Ticket prices for the event have risen to £190.
The following year, the 156th Open will be held at Royal Lytham & St Annes in England from 3 August to 6 August 2028, the club’s 12th time hosting the championship.
The 2026 Open at Royal Birkdale runs 16 July to 19 July, featuring 156 players including defending champion Scottie Scheffler. The schedule includes practice rounds, a cut after Friday, and a final round on Sunday. German participants include Tiger Christensen and amateur Tim Wiedemeyer.
