The Opera Locos wins Hugo Award for Best Musical Variety
The musical production ‘The Opera Locos’ has won the Hugo Award for Best Music Hall, Café Concert, and/or Musical Variety. The show, which features Laura Pirruccio as one of five protagonists, is currently performing at the Teatro Politeama in Buenos Aires.
Originally created by the Spanish production company Yllana, the production toured Europe starting in 2019 before arriving in Argentina through a collaboration between director Juan José Campanella and the national production company 100 Bares. Pirruccio, an artist from Mar del Plata with a background performing on international cruises and with Pepe Cibrián’s company, also received a nomination for Best Female Performance in the same category.
