The Orchard rental tower in Long Island City reaches 90% leased

The Orchard, a 70-story rental tower in Long Island City, has reached 90% leased status following 10 months of marketing. The 824-unit project, developed by BLDG Management Co. under CEO Lloyd Goldman, is scheduled to open in early 2027.

Standing at 823 feet, the tower is the tallest building in Queens and the second-tallest in New York outside of Manhattan. The development includes 576 market-rate apartments and 248 affordable units. It also features over 100,000 square feet of amenities, including a 60,000-square-foot landscaped recreation area.

The building has secured its first retail tenants, filling nearly all of its 7,500 square feet of ground-floor space. Signatories include K-beauty brand Tokimo, Japanese tea brand Mollytea, and financial technology firm Intuit.
