The Other Bennet Sister series to premiere in 2026

The new period drama series “The Other Bennet Sister” is set to premiere on Sky and NOW on September 26, 2026. Produced by Bad Wolf for BBC One, the ten-episode series offers a contemporary reinterpretation of Jane Austen’s literary universe.

Based on the successful novel by Janice Hadlow, the story shifts the focus from the traditional protagonists of “Pride and Prejudice” to Mary Bennet, the middle sister often relegated to the margins. The narrative follows Mary as she moves beyond the family home in Longbourn, traveling from Regency London society to the Lake District in a quest for independence and self-reinvention.

The cast includes Ella Bruccoleri as Mary Bennet, Ruth Jones as Mrs. Bennet, Richard E. Grant as Mr. Bennet, and Dónal Finn as Mr. Hayward.
