The Pattyman secures £50,000 loan to expand food production

The Pattyman, a Cardiff-based artisan food producer, has secured a £50,000 micro loan from the Development Bank of Wales to expand its production capacity. Founded in 2021 by Leroy Williams, the business specializes in Jamaican-inspired products, including jerk marinades, rum punch, Jamaican patties, and award-winning Red Pepper Jelly.

The company’s identity is rooted in Williams’ dual heritage, honoring his father from the Windrush generation and his mother from the Welsh Valleys. The brand also incorporates the Welsh concept of ‘cynefin’, representing a sense of belonging and connection to place.

The funding, provided via the Wales Flexible Investment Fund, will be used to strengthen operations and meet increasing demand from both direct customers and wholesale markets across Wales and beyond.
