The Pineapple Thief releases new progressive rock album ‘Far And Wide’

British progressive rock band The Pineapple Thief has released their seventeenth studio album, titled ‘Far And Wide’. Led by frontman Bruce Soord, the band includes members Jon Sykes, Steve Kitch, and drummer Gavin Harrison.

The new album features nine songs characterized by a more concise musical approach. Soord noted a deliberate strategy of reduction, limiting the use of guitar tracks to maintain a sound consistent with the band’s five-member live stage presence. The lyrical themes address societal shifts, civil courage, political engagement, and personal loss.

Critics have highlighted the technical and compositional contributions of drummer Gavin Harrison, describing him as an ‘ideas man’ whose rhythmic patterns interactively influence the songwriting and melodies of the other members.
