The Pokémon Company to open first permanent store outside Asia in London
The Pokémon Company has announced plans to open its first permanent retail store outside of Asia, located in London. The expansion is scheduled to take place by 2029.
This move marks a significant milestone for the franchise, which has maintained a massive global presence since its debut in 1996. While official Pokémon Center stores currently operate in Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan, the London location will be the first permanent outlet outside the Asian market since a New York location closed in 2005.
The new retail space is intended to serve as a community hub, offering exclusive merchandise, limited-edition apparel, and interactive Pokémon-themed installations. According to Gaku Susai of The Pokémon Company, the goal is to provide unique experiences for both long-time trainers and new fans.
