The Power Of 3 releases new single Taxi featuring Jimi Hendrix riff

The Power Of 3, a new musical trio consisting of guitarist Orianthi, drummer Cindy Blackman Santana, and bassist Rhonda Smith, has released their new single, ‘Taxi’. The track features a previously unreleased guitar riff discovered by Orianthi within the Jimi Hendrix archives, made accessible through her and producer Eddie Kramer’s longstanding relationships with the Hendrix estate.

The trio built the song around the rediscovered riff, which will appear on their self-titled debut album scheduled for release on December 11 via She2Music. The album was produced by legendary producer Eddie Kramer and was recorded entirely using analog methods. Carlos Santana is credited as a special guest on the project.

The group’s formation was encouraged by Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis, who prompted Orianthi to form a power trio inspired by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. The members bring extensive professional backgrounds, having previously collaborated with artists such as Prince, Jeff Beck, and Beyoncé. The band has already performed twice at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
