The Princess Diaries celebrates 25th anniversary with merchandise and film news

Disney is celebrating the 25th anniversary of 'The Princess Diaries' with a new merchandise collection. The assortment, part of the Fanniversary Frenzy, will debut at the D23 Marketplace from August 14 through 16, 2026, followed by a release on the Disney Store on August 17.

Items in the collection include a limited edition Mia Thermopolis doll, restricted to 2,500 pieces, featuring her companion Fat Louie; a Princess Diaries ear headband for adults; and a Grove High School backpack.

Regarding the franchise's future, director Adele Lim has indicated that a third film is in development. Lim stated, "If you were a fan of the original first two movies, I think you can look forward to a lot of fun returns," noting that filming may take place in Europe to showcase the fictional setting of Genovia.
