The Princeton Review releases 2027 Best Colleges rankings

The Princeton Review has released its annual “Best Colleges” rankings for 2027, covering 50 distinct categories. The rankings are based on surveys of 172,000 students across 392 institutions, evaluating topics such as academics, financial aid, campus amenities, and social life.

Key category leaders include Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering for professors, Reed College for classroom experience, and Claremont McKenna College for administration. Other notable top performers include Washington and Lee University for financial aid, the University of Chicago for health services, and the University of Massachusetts—Amherst for campus food.

The report also highlights statistical stand-outs, such as the University of Central Florida for lowest tuition for in-state residents and Princeton University for the highest average scholarship amount based on financial need. Additionally, the California Institute of Technology and MIT share the lowest student-to-faculty ratio at 3:1.
