The Red Lion pub in Warrington plans heritage exterior renovation
The Red Lion, a historic pub in Stockton Heath, Warrington, is planning an exterior renovation to restore its heritage character. A planning application has been submitted to the Warrington Borough Council by the venue's owner, brewery Daniel Thwaites PLC.
The proposal includes replacing modern signage with bespoke gold leaf-finished lettering and removing a branded arch. The renovation also involves redecorating windows in a heritage green color to contrast with the red brick facade, and stripping and restaining doors with a dark ebony timber stain.
Originally known as The Lion and Lamb, the building has been a fixture on London Road since the 1800s. The project aims to enhance the aesthetic of the long-standing establishment, which serves as a local hub for music and events.
