The Road of Dust and Sorrow set for December 2026 release

Silver Lining Interactive and Painted Black Games have announced that the survival-horror game ‘The Road of Dust and Sorrow’ is scheduled for release on December 3, 2026. The title will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the pixel-art adventure follows a mother, Katherine, and her daughter, Ava, as they navigate the ruins of civilization. The setting is defined by a failed experimental crop intended to end global famine, which instead transformed humans into violent creatures known as ‘Dusters.’

Inspired by classic titles such as ‘Resident Evil’ and ‘Silent Hill,’ the game features linear, story-driven gameplay focused on exploration, environmental puzzles, and combat. Players must manage resources and protect Ava while evading threats, including a mysterious group led by a figure known as ‘the Pastor.’ The game has reportedly surpassed 150,000 wishlists on Steam.
