Cultural celebrations for grandparents vary globally. While International Grandparents Day is observed on July 26, established by the NGO Mensajeros de la Paz to honor the grandparents of Jesus, Mexico celebrates Grandparents Day on August 28. In Mexico, the date's origins are linked to various historical periods and decrees, including those by the Instituto Nacional de las Personas Adultas Mayores (INAPAM). Additionally, Pope Francis established the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly to be held on the fourth Sunday of July.
