The Rookie episodes air on ZDFneo and a ninth season confirmed for 2027

A new episode of the police drama The Rookie, titled “Hollywood on Streife,” was broadcast on ZDFneo in Germany on 20 July 2026 at 05:15 CET. The episode was also streamed live on the channel’s website and later made available in the ZDFneo Mediathek.

The American broadcaster ABC has confirmed that the series will return for a ninth season, slated to premiere in January 2027. Production on the new season is expected to begin in summer 2026. In Germany, the new episodes will initially be released on Sky and Wow, with later availability on streaming services such as Disney+ and Netflix, and eventual free‑to‑air broadcast on ZDFneo.
