The Rookie returns with new episodes and season updates

The police drama The Rookie is set to continue with new developments in its upcoming broadcasts. On October 25, 2026, Rai 2 will air two new episodes from the eighth season. In the episode ‘È tutto un gioco’, Nyla Harper returns to active duty alongside Miles, while John Nolan and Celina Juarez investigate an armed robbery reported by a television station owner.

The second episode, titled ‘Incubo’, features a potential breakthrough in the Glasser case alongside complications for Nolan. Looking further ahead, season 9 is scheduled to premiere on January 6, following the events of the eighth-season finale. The new season will reportedly focus on a high-stakes rescue mission to save Tim Bradford after a kidnapping and torture ordeal, involving Lucy Chen in the effort to bring him home safely.

Season 9 is also expected to introduce several new characters, including Troian Bellisario, Dulé Hill, and Molly Kunz, as the series explores new dynamics within the Los Angeles Police Department.
