The Royal Mint releases $7,800 solid gold Pink Floyd guitar pick

The Royal Mint has expanded its collection of Pink Floyd memorabilia with the release of a solid gold guitar pick inspired by ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ album artwork. The plectrum features the iconic prism design and is limited to only 10 units.

Each gold pick is priced at £4,750 (approximately $7,800). While intended as a collector's item, the Mint stated the piece is a fully functional accessory featuring a beveled edge designed for actual use by guitar players.

The gold item joins a broader range of commemorative products, which includes silver picks (£130), copper picks (£40), a £5 coin, and a limited-edition 1oz gold proof coin. The collection, designed by Henry Gray, continues a collaboration between the band and the Mint that began in May 2026.
