The Royal Writ announced for Nintendo Switch release

Yogscast Games and Save Sloth Studio have announced that their tactical card game, The Royal Writ, will be released on the Nintendo Switch on September 10.

The game is a medieval lane-based roguelike deckbuilder featuring a storybook-inspired art style and dark humor. Players manage armies of creatures such as ants, bats, and lizards, deploying them across one to three lanes to advance toward enemy gates. The gameplay incorporates permadeath mechanics, where units can be permanently removed from the player's deck if they reach the enemy base or encounter hazards.

The console version will launch with all recent PC updates, including balance changes for the final boss and Act II, new equipment like the Postbag and Fishing Rod, and four new Letter Cards: Excision, Last Resort, Excavation Permit, and Mushroom Break. The release also includes optimizations and bug fixes specifically for the console experience.
