The Shards series explores 1980s Los Angeles thriller

The television series ‘The Shards’, created by Ryan Murphy and based on the 2023 novel by Bret Easton Ellis, has concluded its first season on Hulu and Disney+. Set in 1981 Los Angeles, the psychological thriller follows a group of wealthy students at an elite private school whose lives are disrupted by the presence of a serial killer.

While a second season has not yet been officially renewed, Murphy has expressed interest in expanding the story. He noted in an interview with Variety that Bret Easton Ellis supports the idea of the project becoming a multi-year drama rather than a limited miniseries, potentially spanning up to thirty episodes to allow for deeper character development.
